I’ve played it for a good while and I must admit I’m really impressed with what it has to offer! However, I did notice a few things that felt a bit off.
Not being able to use coins: When you get the exact amount of coins (or more) for the Big Mac… it doesn’t let you spend them. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if something else happened, but honestly, it left me a bit disappointed.
Cooking time: I noticed something pretty tedious here. The game requires way TOO MUCH PRECISION to cook. It stops being fun if you have to be absolutely perfect. Not only is it weird that it instantly counts as undercooked, but it’s also pretty difficult because you basically need a timer on hand to avoid ruining the food. Even casual/cozy cooking games take into account the reaction time a player needs before something burns.
Fun fact: This timer-based cooking reminded me of baking a cake for Shy Guy with Princess Peach, except the timing there was much more forgiving and you could count in your head without needing an actual timer. That’s a perfect example to keep in mind!
Closing the Window/Laptop: I absolutely LOVED this! I’ve never seen a game where you have to use the actual browser window to play. It’s incredibly innovative in my opinion. I also love that “minimizing” works too; it saves your arm from getting tired after making so many burgers.
Art/FX: The FX are really well done! Visually, the game is very clean, understandable, and beautiful. I’ve always said that the great thing about indie games is that developers don’t stress over complex shaders, lighting, or details that most people won’t even notice (like putting 4K textures on a door that players will just open without looking twice).
By the way, some players might struggle to understand what to do if they don’t know English. It would be amazing if you could add a small Spanish translation for the instructions! It would look basically like this:
I must admit I’m truly impressed! I’ve always wanted to learn how to cook in real life, but for now, I’ll happily settle for cooking games (and internet recipes). This actually made me hungry. Beautiful game! ⭐⭐⭐🌟
